In 1999 safety Calvin Branch had the privilege to play for the Barcelona Dragons, whon had been kind of a dream team during that season which had reached the World Bowl with ease thanks to so many great players on the field.
first of all there had been Lawrence Phillips, who had been absolutely explosive at that particular time.
Then there were Brandon Noble from the Dallas Cowboys, qb Todd Bouman, Mike Maslowski from the Kansas City Chiefs and receiver Brian Finneran, just to mention a few.
But in the World Bowl things didn't work out as Lawrence Phillips got injured and their opponent Frankfurt Galaxy was playing on top of their game with two superb quarterbacks doing the "double headed monster" that consisted out of Pat Barnes and Jake Dehomme.
His home team had been the Oakland Raiders for whom he had appeared on 60 games from 1997 until 2005.
