Driving around Unawatuna on day 3 after Tsunami brought
pictures such as this, when local guys had set up something
like a road block and were questioning people with an
ax on their shoulder.
There had been no police around whilst the army had
preferred to stay safe in central and northern Sri Lanka.
Only in Galle some troops had been seen whilst heavy
looting had made Unawatuna an insecure place.
Even a week after tsunami no police or army had been
seen except for an occasional truck, that had dropped
some lunch bags.
