After 5 days no shops had been opened and in some parts
to get at least waterpumps working.
After a week the shock was still deep and the roads
were like an apocalypse.
On Jan 1 the Sri Lanka government had decided, that
supply will only be available to those, who can make
it to the camps despite the absence of public transports.
Those living in a distance or who had been injured did
not have a chance at all to receive any food or water.
Huge amounts of items and vast sums of money had reached
Colombo, where local authorities had been unable to
channel the aid. For example one plane full of goods
had not been cleared after 6 hours when the crew had
asked the airport authorities for a meal and drinks.
