Andi Thoma and Jan Werner are Mouse on Mars, two highly creative gentlemen
who live and work in the same town that has given the world the electronic
godfathers Kraftwerk.
But for sure they are different in every aspect on their search
for new sound dimensions. Whilst Kraftwerk always came across as something
artificial - they are of course artificial - Mouse on Mars is a friendly
encounter with loads of fans in the UK since they have started touring
there.
Mouse on Mars music is full of surprises when they start fiddling around
with all kinds of electronic and non electronic sounds to create even
dancetunes.
Hit singles are not what they seem to be looking for and the impression
is, that they more enjoy their initial work rather than the big big pay.
Sure they get by with various releases, remixes and production jobs at
their own St. Elmore Studio, where bands like Stereolab, Lee Buddah or
Enemy Disco tend to show up to get things done at their carefully hidden
place, which is not easy to find.
